3 - 13 - 17  Finally, visited Cuba from February 28 to March 11, '17.  Had a direct flight from JFK to Havana and everything went very smooth.  Stayed in a Casa Particular in Central Havana and was able to walk to most places and Old Havana.  Many museums, cultural institutions, galleries, jazz concerts and ballet are available to see.  People are all very friendly and are now able to get Wi-Fi in all the hotels and various outdoors places, including their Central Park.  After exploring and photographing the architecture and it's people, the owner of the Casa made arrangements for a Collective Taxi to take us to Boca de Camarioca and Varadero on the Caribbean coast.  We wanted to stay in Boca, where the local Cubans live and had an entire 2nd floor of a house, all to ourselves. Love it all and looking forward to revisiting a different area of Cuba.  Viva Cuba!

March 3 - March 12, 2015  Our second visit to Nicargua's west coast.  Airlines had direct flight to the capitol of Managua.  Stayed in the colonial town of Leon, very walkable to see the old town's architecture, the museums and town square.  A short drive from Leon to the coastal beach towns of Ponelonyas and Las Pensitas.  Stayed in the one road in and out of Las Pensitas, which had a small grocery store and a few restaurants.  Quiet town, few people and a beach all to ourselves.  Perfect sunsets, walks along the shore and into the tranquil ocean.  Underdeveloped area, along this coast makes for a very special place to visit.

May 8 - May 14, 2014  Acadia National Park, in Maine is very unique on the coast.  Stayed in Hull's Cove a short drive to Bar Harbor and the park.  Went to Sandy Beach, hiked up Cadillac Mountain, also Thunder Hole, spectacular.  Hiked for over 2 hours around Jordon Pond, the scenic trail, Eagle Pond and Bubble Pond.  Went to the least visited area of park Winter Harbor, secluded area, wraps around a lake that is crystal clear, lookout point at Blueberry, all superb.

Sept. 3 - Sept. 18, 2013  Yellowstone and Grand Tetons was on the national parks list to visit.  From Salt Lake City drove the scenic route around Bear Lake to the Grand Tetons.   Walked around Jackson Hole and then drove to Yellowstone.  Viewed the Old Faithful Geyser and stayed in West Yellowstone in Montana at the west entrance to Yellowstone.  Good town to visit and make as a base. Went to the Mammoth Springs, saws lots of buffalo, elk and antelope.  Beautiful vistas, 10,000 ft. high in the mountains.  Hiked for two-half hours, along the Yellowstone River and Yellowstone Lake with park ranger and into the back country.  The prismatic geyser is a sight to see, along with viewing the vistas from Overlook Butte.

March 13 - March 27, 2012 - Visted Costa Rica for the third time and went to the west coast.  Had a direct flight from JFK to Liberia.  Drove south to Brasilito and nearby Conchal Beach was outside our place where we stayed.  Hiked in Rincon National Park and drove to Cuajiniquil where we stayed in Cabinas El Manglar, owned by two Italians.  Hiked in Santa Rosa National Park, Costa Rica's first national park.  A drive of three hours south was to Playa Carillo and Samara.  Stayed in a bed & breakfast and had a secluded beach, all to ourselves.  Visited the restaurants in Samara and the town.
Loverly place, beautiful vistas and sunsets.
